Nokia’s blockchain-powered Data Marketplace offers secure data trading and AI models

Finland’s Nokia today announced the launch of a new service – a blockchain powered Data Marketplace that should offer secure data transactions and analysis. Nokia’s service will allow partners from different industries to cooperate on a private blockchain, which brings the benefit of decentralized data validation and secure transactions between parties, as well as analysis of data without changing the location where the data is stored.

It all does sound a bit abstract, but Nokia does mention some usecases and the company released a video with the announcement of the new offering, which you can check down below.

In the press release, Nokia mentions that the Data Marketplace will enable “a wide range of vertical use cases, including electric vehicle charging, environmental data monetization, supply-chain automation and preventative maintenance powering numerous vertical segments, including transportation, ports, energy, smart cities and healthcare.”
