Nokia scores a five year expansion deal for T-Mobile’s 5G network in the US
|Nokia announced that it signed a new 5G deal with its longtime partner T-Mobile US. The five-year expansion deal extends the partnership between the Finnish communication infrastructure giant and one of the leading US carriers to bring 5G to even more customers in the States.
As part of the five-year 5G expansion deal, Nokia will deliver its AirScale Radio platform to deploy a “Ultra Capacity 5G layer” at 2.5GHz with massive MIMO technology. Nokia will deliver cells for mmWave 5G spectrum as well, and all the improvements from the deal will be applied to T-Mobile’s national standalone 5G network, that doesn’t rely on legacy 4G gear.
