Asus yesterday announced a new smartphone in their gaming smartphone ROG Phone series. The ROG Phone 3 comes with an aggressive design (known on gaming smartphones) and overclocked Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC, but it also features well known OZO Audio sound recording technology.
In an official blog post, Nokia announced that the ROG Phone 3 comes with the fullest implementation of OZO Audio yet to be seen on a smartphone. Usually, the partners utilise OZO tech only for recording sound in video, but Asus and Nokia went a step further and use OZO Audio technology across all recorded audio on the device – meaning voice memos and voice messages as well. This is also something a lot of Nokia Community members were suggesting Nokia Mobile to utilize on their phones, mainly by building a dedicated voice recorded app with OZO Audio. Nokia and Asus showed it’s possible to integrate OZO in all audio recordings, which will open Nokia’s technology licensing business to more partners.
Apart from the fastest CPU, the ROG Phone 3 comes with a 144Hz 6.59-inch AMOLED high refresh rate display, 6000mAh battery, 4 cameras, starting memory configuration of 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and a 1000 euro price tag.
