Nokia C5 Endi, C2 Tava and C2 Tennen announced for Cricket Wireless

Nokia Mobile today announced new devices that are exclusives for US operator Cricket Wireless. First time ever, besides letters and numbers, Nokia Mobile Android devices also come with names – Endi, Tava and Tennen.

Nokia C5 Endi does share design lines with the new Nokia 5.3 announced in late March, but has a polycarbonate unibody design. The device comes with a 6.517” HD+ (720 x 1600px) display with a teardrop notch where the 8MP front facing camera is located. The device is powered by MediaTek’s MT6762 SoC, also known as Helio P22 and comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage. A 4000mAh battery is there to keep the device running, with 10W charging support. On the back we have a triple camera configuration, with 13MP primary camera, 2MP depth sensor and 5MP ultrawide sensor. Other specs include FM Radio, BT5.0, Google Assistant button and Android 10 out of the box.

Nokia C2 Tava and C2 Tennen are new budget devices, that look and seem the same, but come with a 40 dollars price difference. The phones come in a nice-looking housing with removable backcovers with nano-texture, like we saw with Nokia 1 Plus at MWC2019. They have a 5.45” HD+ screen and use MediaTek’s A22 SoC with 2GBs of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage that is expandable via MicroSD cards. On the rear we have a 8MP+2MP dual camera setup, with a 5MP front camera. The battery is 3000mAh in capacity and both devices come with Android 10 and Google Assistant buttons.

  • 8MP + 2MP dual rear camera

All three devices support one nano-SIM card and come with USB-C ports, which is amazing considering the price points. The Nokia C2 Tennen will go on sale from June 15th via selected national retailers for $69.99 (63 euro, 5,293 INR) in 2GB/32GB memory variant and steel color. The Nokia C2 Tava will go on sale from May 29th via Cricekt’s online and offline stores for $109.99 (99 euro, 8,320 INR) in the same memory variant as Tennen. The Nokia C5 Endi with 3GB of RAM and 64GB will go on sale from June 5th via Cricket stores (online and offline) for $169.99 (152 euro, 12,781 INR).

All in all, three interesting budget device designated for the US market and, more precisely, Cricket Wireless customers. I like the new names as concept, considering it is more interesting than X.Y nomenclature. We asked our Finnish friend if the names mean something, but they don’t. Considering these devices are US-exclusives, other parts of the world probably won’t see them.
