Google Phone on Nokia smartphones now supports call recording in India

Users report that with the recent update of the Google Phone app on Nokia Android One smartphones the call recording feature was enabled. Right now, mostly users in India reported the new feature with the Phone app in version 47.0.305350684.

When you start a call, a record option will appear in the active call UI. When you click “Record” a voice message saying that the phone call is recorded will be played for legal reasons, making all the parties on the call aware that the call is recorded.

Nokia Mobile India confirmed the availability of this feature for Nokia Android One smartphones in India. This feature is at the moment region restricted and we don’t know when it will be enabled for other region or Android One devices. Considering that Google is the one developing the Phone app, we will have to wait for them to make it broadly available.
