Rumors: No new Nokia phones till Autumn 2020
|The global supply (and demand) chain has been heavily disturbed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Industry’s biggest event, MWC2020 was cancelled and most manufacturers that planned to announce new devices at Barcelona organized their own virtual events.
Nokia Mobile held an event on 26th March, when the company announced the new Nokia 1.3, 5.3 and 8.3 5G, as well as the feature phone Nokia 5310. Now, according to Nokia_anew, we might not see new announcements from Nokia Mobile till September 2020.
No announcements are expected until the autumn. #nokia #hmd #nokiamobile #coronavirus

This makes sense to me. The Nokia 8.3 5G should arrive sometime during summer, and considering that all market researchers are expecting smartphone shipments to go down in April and May, announcing new devices before IFA2020 doesn’t make much sense to me. We didn’t hear rumors about any smartphones besides the Nokia 9.2/9.3, that should come with the Snapdragon 865 and the well-known, but improved, penta-lens setup. Also, let’s not forget the rumors about the Nokia 400 and of a potential foldable phone.
Anyways, both the Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 8.3 5G seem like interesting devices, as well as the new Nokia 5310. Hopefully the review units will soon arrive.
