Dual-SIM Nokia 7.2 devices not performing well after Android 10 update
|While we are still waiting for our Nokia 7.2 to get the Android 10 update, the first problems with the update started showing up. The Dual SIM Nokia 7.2 devices (TA-1196 or TA-1193) are not behaving correctly after the Android 10 update was installed. If you are using two SIM cards, and one SIM card is deactivated or disabled, the device may enter Recovery mode. The single SIM devices are not being affected by this issue which is a good thing.
Nokia Mobile offered two ways to recover your device to normal state and most importantly without loss of user data.
This is the quote from Nokia Communities post:
If you do not wish to continue to use the Disabled SIM
- Power off the device
- Remove the Disabled SIM
- Power on the device
If you wish to continue to use both SIMs
- Power off the device (or if in recovery mode, “Try again”)
- Ensure both SIM1 and SIM2 cards are inserted
- Power up the device (Important notice for users with Roaming SIM card who not want data Roaming enabled – Please go to “Settings” > “Network & Internet” > “Mobile Network” > Mobile network [SIM name] > [SIM name] and check that Roaming is set to Disabled)
- Go to “Settings” > “Network & Internet” > “SIM cards”, and activate any deactivated SIM card (you may need to try a couple of times and wait for a few minutes for connection. If after several minutes, you do not see successful connection to the network, then a restart may be required).
This might be the reason why are we still waiting for the update since our Nokia 7.2 is the TA-1196 version (Dual-SIM). The update will be released once Nokia Mobile fixes the issue.
have you experienced problems with your Dual-SIM device? have you found any other issues with the new Android 10 update?
