Nokia collaborates with Marvell and Intel for better silicon technology, 5G radio and cloud infrastructure

Nokia announced that the company partnered with leaders in the silicon industry to improve Nokia’s silicon offerings, that includes the ReefShark series of chipsets, as well as 5G New Radio and cloud infrastructure.

Nokia and Marvell are working on 5G multi-RAT (Radio Access Technology) silicon innovations, that will be applied in upcoming custom silicon and infrastructure processors for 5G solutions under the ReefShark brand. Nokia’s custom processor will combine Marvell’s multi-core Arm processor technology and Nokia’s wireless technology, which should make the chips smaller in size and more efficient.

With Intel, Nokia collaborates to improve their 5G Radio solutions. Jointly developed solutions are integrated in ReefShark products and Nokia will continue to use the latest Intel Xeon processors in their AirFrame data centers.
