The year 2019 was an exciting year for smartphones. Not the most exciting in the last decade, but we did see some interesting device, especially the first foldables phone being commercially available, considering we have been hearing about them for year.
The Economic Times (of India Times) posted a list of six game-changing smartphones of 2019. Among the selected few, Nokia 9 PureView also found its way. The 9 PureView is still a unique device on the market because it is the only one that simultaneously captures photos from more than two camera sensors and them stitches them together. In my opinion, the camera system is really unique enough to make the list, maybe not game-changing, but certainly it makes the 9 one of the most interesting/intriguing devices of 2019.
Samsung’s foldable Galaxy Fold was also on the list, considering it’s the first mainstream foldable device. ET also included Asus ROG Phone II, Nubia Red Magic 3s, Oppo Reno 10x Zoom and LG G8X ThinQ Dual Screen. I would rather include the Mate 30 Pro as the best smartphone camera and best Google-less Android device on the market.
