Nokia 6.2 also has an unlockable bootloader *UPDATE*

After discovering that the bootloader on Nokia 7.2 can be unlocked in a simple process, Techmesto confirmed that Nokia 6.2 also comes with an unlockable bootloader and the same process can be applied to that device as well.

With an unlocked bootloader, users can flash custom ROM on the device. Nokia 6.2 and 7.2 don’t come with an unlocked bootloader, because that could be a security concern, but they don’t prevent the user, at least on current software builds, from unlocking the bootloader using the standard methods in Android community.

We still don’t know if an “unlockable bootloader” was left on Nokia 6.2 and 7.2 by mistake, or Nokia Mobile decided to do a shift in their strategy regarding this particular issue.

Update: In a statement to our inquiry, Nokia Mobile said that they will disable the bootloader unlock option on Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2.
