Nokia Mobile announced Nokia 220 4G

Nokia Mobile quietly announced a new Nokia feature phone, Nokia 220 4G, which looks like a pimped up version of Nokia 210. The phone is great for the emerging markets covered with 4G network since Nokia 220 4G supports it. This means that the owners will enjoy in HD calls, but that is not all that 220 4G is offering. It has 2.4-inch QQWGA screen, supports VoLTE, has Bluetooth 4.2 and 3.5 mm jack for a headset that will also serve as an antenna when listening to FM radio. The battery of 1200 mAh will provide a solid 27 days of standby, and 6.3 hours of talk time. There is just a basic VGA camera with LED at the back, but don’t expect much of it.

Unfortunately, the Nokia 220 4G isn’t using KaiOS, so there is no possibility of using Whatsapp. The Feature OS, which was previously used on Nokia 3310 3G, does support Opera Mini browser and there are games like Sanke and Gameloft’s trial games pre-installed.

Here are the basic specs of the Nokia 220 4G:
Dimensions: 121.3 x 52.9 x 13.4mm
Mass: 86.5
Screen: 2.4”; QQVGA
Memory: 24MB
Camera: VGA
Battery: 1200 mAh, removable
Connectivity: Dual SIM (nano-SIM and mini-SIM), 2G/4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2
Extra: 3.5 mm port, Micro-USB, FM Radio
OS: FeatureOS
Color: Blue, Black
Price: from €39

I like the shape of the device. It reminds me of Nokia 3210, which was quite successful back in the days. Even Nokia 210 cherished similar lines of that glorious model.

Nokia 220 4G will be available in Blue and Black color and will be available mid-August, starting from 39 Euros.
