Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 4.2 appear on official Nokia website in India; No 9 PureView at the moment
|We are a day away from the official global sales start of the Nokia 9 PureView, HMD’s first camera phone, with the first market the 9 is hitting being the United States of America. Europe and probably some countries in the Middle East should start getting their shipments in late March, early April, while for other important markets less info is available. For example, China where we release date isn’t set, but the device is coming and India where the release date nor the price of the 9 are known.
In an interview for IndianExpressOnline, HMD’s country head for India Ajey Mehta said that they are considering bringing all five devices to India, and that the price will be announced near the launch date. A quick glimpse at Nokia Mobile’s local India site, shows us that the product pages for the Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 4.2 have been set up, while there are no product pages for Nokia 9 or Nokia 1 Plus.
This doesn’t mean Nokia 9 won’t at all come to India. The Indian market is an ultra competitive market and all phones HMD sells there are also manufactured in India. US and Europe got the priority this time, even before China, because of the device specifically targeting the photo enthusiasts, which would be valid in India and China too, but it comes with an old SoC. It also takes time setting up the production line, and I don’t know how much demand HMD expected for 9.
Nokia 3.2 will globally go on sale in early May for a starting price of €122, while the Nokia 4.2 will be available a bit earlier, in April, for a starting price of €149. I really like the 4.2, especially the Pink Sand version, and for €149 looks like a sweet deal on a global level. We’ll see when the review unit comes in. 🙂
Anyways, we will keep you posted when new info appears about the 9’s availability in world’s biggest smartphone markets. If you find any info, do leave a comment down below or a tip in our “Tips” section. 🙂
