Nokia 8.1 started receiving the January security update (2019); Update tracker updated, too

The newly released Nokia 8.1, the successor of Nokia 7 plus in spirit and of Nokia 8 in name, started receiving the January security patch. Users from India report via Twitter that their Nokia 8.1’s started getting the latest security update, that’s around 67MB in size. The official changelog just mentions the security patch.

HMD Global also updated the update tracker page. Last time the tracker was updated was around 10 days ago, so it’s an improvement that we got two tracker updates in the same month. 🙂

The tracker shows when (and which) update started rolling out for which device, based on the “SW ID” that can be found under the About section in Settings. You can check the tracker here.
