Nokia 8.1 officially announced in Dubai

Nokia Mobile announced today at Dubai #ExpectMore event the new version of Nokia 7 Plus or global version of Nokia 7X which they now call new Nokia 8 or Nokia 8.1. The device is nicely designed, covered with glass from both sides which is seamlessly combined with the anodized with aluminum frame. The body will be available in Blue Silver, Steel Copper, and a new addition to the color palette, Iron Steel color.

The device won’t be using the latest flagship processor from Qualcomm, but rather Snapdragon 710 which is made in the 14 10nm process and has 8 cores that can be clocked up to 2.2 gigahertz. This processor is going to enable the use of all the advanced algorithms that are needed to process photos taken by three of its cameras and make the HDR10 screen shine.

Nokia 8.1 has LCD Full HD + screen which is 6.18 inch wide in diameter. The ratio of the screen is 18.7: 9, and it almost covers the whole front part of the screen. The screen has 500 nits brightness which will be enough for you to read it nicely at bright sunlight. Nokia also used the Pure display technology which will enable HDR10 on it, or the enhanced contrast and sharpness for photos, games and videos.

The biggest improvement on this device is camera experience which is backed up with ZEISS lenses and Sony’s IMX 363 sensor at the back and 20 MP camera at the front. The main camera has 12 MP main sensor which is optically stabilized, and 13 MP depth sensor. The front camera is improved with 20 MP sensor that will be able to combine 4 pixels into one to get the better picture.

The battery of the device has the capacity of 3500 mAh which should be enough to ensure the 2-day battery life. The battery will be fast charged by 18W charger provided in the box.
