Nokia 2, 3, 3.1 (TA-1063) and 6.1 (TA-1043) received the August Security patch

The old Chinese saying goes, better late than never. Ok, probably the old Chinese saying doesn’t go like that, but it is nice to get an August security patch even though August is soon to end. Readers reported that Nokia 2 and Nokia 3 received Google’s August security patch. The update for Nokia 2 is 89.2 MB large, while the update for Nokia 3 is 92.8 MB large. Well, these numbers are pretty funny, right.

I can also confirm that Nokia 3.1 (TA-1063) finally received the August security patch, while my Nokia 3 (TA-1020) is still pretty much secured with July update. The update for Nokia 3.1 is 103.6 MB large and it just brings the security patch to the device.

One other thing happened also, and it can be classified as a small miracle. Our Nokia 6.1 (TA-1043) finally received the July security update (74.6MB), which was immediately followed by August security patch (98.8 MB). This was the longest waiting period since HMD fist said that Nokia phones are going to receive monthly security patches. But hey, better late than never.

So my dear owners of the Nokia 2, 3, 3.1 and 6.1, check if August security update is available for your device (of course, if you haven’t updated it already).
