Nokia Pro Camera app ported to other devices

At MWC2018 a few months ago, Nokia Mobile introduced the new camera app with pro mode for ZEISS-certified Nokia devices. The app comes pre-loaded with the new Nokia 6.1, 7 plus and 8 Sirocco, and starting this week, it is also available on Nokia 8 via an Over-the-air update
. The already mentioned pro mode features wheels for manually setting up ISO, shutter speed, focus and other parameters, just like on the Lumia devices. By many, it’s the most intuitive manual camera mode on the market.

Thanks to XDA forum users, now a lot of ZEISS-non-certified Android Devices can download the APK and try the pro mode on their device. The port was made possible by XDA forum memberĀ linuxct and can be downloaded here. The apk there didn’t want to install on our Nokia 3, 5 and 6, but another port by Hakiri Calyx can be installed on Nokia 3, 5 and 6, and you can download and try that apk here.

XDA-Developers.com mentions in their article that your Android device needs to support Level 3 Camera2 API for the app to work and you can check if your phone supports it using this app. Keep in mind that the pro camera app is made and optimized for Nokia 6.1, 7, 7 plus, 8 and 8 Sirocco, and it could crash or have a limited set of features on your device.
