While we are waiting for the global Nokia Mobile event in Moscow, where we may or may not see the global version of the Nokia X6, the newest announced Nokia smartphone, the already mentioned Nokia X6 got her designed patented at the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
The Nokia X6 is “special” in terms of the design, because it features a notch. Phone manufacturers have a goal to practically make the whole front surface a screen, so they “invent” different types of solutions (“notches”) to come closer to that goal. HMD’s first attempt got its design patented at EUIPO under the design number: 004692218-0001.
Nokia X6 design was submitted to EUIPO on 2nd February this year, three weeks before MWC2018 and official (global) announcement of Nokia 6.1, 7 plus, 8 Sirocco, 1 and Nokia 8110 4G. The designers of the device mentioned by EUIPO are Alasdair McPhail, HMD’s Head of design and Chengli Hung.
Nokia Mobile event in Moscow begins at 18:40h local time and you can follow it via social media (Facebook, YouTube), and we will also cover all HMD announces here at Nokiamob.
