Nokia 6 2018 coming to the US after all
|Cnet, that previously reported that the new series of Nokia Android phones won’t be available in the US, now reports that HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas told them that the new Nokia 6 (2018) will hit the United States of America as an unlocked device. This info contradicts the words of HMD’s CEO Florian Seiche when he told CNet that the US is on HMD’s roadmap, but not just yet.
The new Nokia 6 (2018) should hit the US market in May for an unknown price. He stated for CNet the following:
“If you look at this US open market, this midtier is where you have a lot of people purchasing their device,” said Sarvikas. The Nokia 6 is a very good proposition for this market, he added.
“We have a more focused plan for the US and we have long-term ambition as well — it’s a key market globally,” said Sarvikas. “We’ll have more news to share later on this year.”
These are great news for all the US fans waiting for a new Nokia device. Unfortunately, the whole lineup won’t make it there and most certainly the 6 (2018) will be a GSM variant, so only a half of operator SIM’s will work in her. Juho also teased something for later this year, but we don’t want to speculate about it just yet, and rather let’s focus on the current lineup. You can learn more about the Nokia 6 2018 here.
