Widespread Google Play Store error 404 affecting Nokia 6 TA-1000 and 7 TA-1041

An issue with the Google Play Store, to be precise error 404, started occurring on various devices from January 31st. The Play Store error came at the same time when the official Oreo update for the Nokia 6 TA-1000 was released, but the Google Play Store Error 404 hasn’t been caused by the Android Oreo upgrade.

The problem affects phones imported from China that had no Google Play Store preinstalled. On Android Central forums, users reported that various devices, from Samsung, Huawei, ZTE, and others, including Nokia 6 TA-1000 and Nokia 7 TA-1041, have problems with Google Play Store. Error 404 appears when trying to download an app via Google Play Store, or in other words – users affected by error 404 cannot download apps.

Until now, I didn’t find that any solution for this problem has been discovered. The issue seems to be caused by Google, because it is affecting different China-variant devices running on Android Nougat and Android Oreo. We are in contact with HMD and will inform you when we get any new info about this problem.

My advice is to use APK Mirror or similar sites to download apps you need (or another appstore like Aptoide), until manufacturers find a solution for the problem. If you do have any new info regarding this situation, freely leave it down in the comments.
