Nokia 6 2018 (TA-1054) specifications revealed by TENAA
|Recently, HMD’s successor to their first Android device Noka 6, that is rumored to simply be called Nokia 6 2018, passed TENAA certification process in China. A deeper dive into the info HMD submitted to TENAA reveals interesting things about Nokia 6 (2018) design, screen size and other specifications.
First off, Nokia 6 2018, at least the one under the model number TA-1054 that passed TENAA, won’t come with an 18:9 display as some rumors indicated, but with the standard 16:9 display with a 5.5 inch diagonal and FullHD (1920×1080) resolution. The front surface of the new Nokia 6 is smaller compared to the original 6. The 6 2018 is 148.8×75.8×8.15mm in size, which gives us a 73.2% screen to body ratio, while the old 6 is 154×75.8×7.85mm in size with 70.7% screen to body ratio. The new 6 is thicker and heavier (172g vs. 167g) compared to the original 6.
A thing I was sceptical about on the original 6, and I still think a different choice of that component, with faster release to market, could’ve significantly helped the sales of the original 6, is the processor. Per TENAA’s info, the 6 (2018) features an octa core processor with 4 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and the other 4 at 1.9GHz. From Qualcomm’s midrange offering, only Snapdragon 630 and 660 support up to 2.2GHz of CPU frequencies, which means we can rule out the Snapdragon 450 as the CPU.
Other info TENAA shows are the 3000mAh battery, 4GB RAM, 32GB or/and 64GB of storage, 16MP rear and 8MP front camera, and Android 7.1.1 as the OS. There is also support for a MicroSD card.
Summed up specifications look like this:
- Dimensions: 148.8 × 75.8 × 8.15 (mm)
- Mass: 172 g
- Screen: TFT, 5.5 inch, 1080×1920 pixels, 16M colours
- Processor: Octa core, 4*2.2GHz+4*1.9GHz
- RAM: 4GB
- Internal memory: 32/64 GB, microSD up to 128GB
- Camera: 16MP back + 8MP front
- Battery: 3000 mAh
- OS: Android 7.1.1

Keep in mind, we are talking here about the Chinese variant of the alleged Nokia 6 (2018) that carries the model number TA-1054. The global variant of this device could come with different specifications. We will know everything once the device is announced, and that is expected to be next month for China and month after that globally, at MWC2018.
Do you like the specifications of the Nokia 6 (2018), especially compared to the original 6? The Snapdragon 6xx processor is something users wanted in the 6 (2017) and I personally like that the display stayed on the 16:9 ratio. What do you think about it? Tell us down below. 🙂
