Rumors: Nokia 2 with 2GB RAM/16GB storage coming to India *UPDATED*
|Gizchina reports, that according to multiple sources, HMD is planing to launch a Nokia 2 variant with 2GB RAM exclusively for the Indian market, that would be available exclusively via Flipkart. Nokia 2 was announced 3 weeks ago, featuring a 5-inch screen, Snapdragon 212, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, huge 4100mAh battery and Android 7.1.1. This new report suggests that customers in India should see a variant of Nokia 2 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, reportedly for a price of INR7,999, which is about €105 ($123).
This wouldn’t come as a surprise, because HMD already announced a Nokia 5 variant with 3GB RAM for India. Additionally, HMD manufacturers all phones designated for the Indian market in India, while the rest of the world, receives the smartphones mainly from China. The Nokia 2 2GB/16GB should be available by the end of December via Flipkart for INR7,999. Keep in mind, these are rumors and not official information, so take it with a pinch of salt.
I believe that the 2 from the start should’ve had 2GB RAM and more storage; but with a bigger battery, it could take a portion of Nokia 3 sales, that sells for a higher price. All in all, it’s good HMD will give more options to customers (assuming this rumor is true). Nokia 2 is already available in some markets like Russia or South Africa, for an average global price of €100.
Does the Nokia 2 with 2GB RAM sound better to your ears than the announced version? Would you consider it for €105? Tell us down below. 🙂
Update: BSU reports, that the regular Nokia 2 version, that features 1GB RAM, should go on sale in India by the end of this month for INR6,999 (€92) via various offline and online outlets.
