Nokia 2 heading to the US for $99 (AT&T and T-Mobile)

Amazon listed the newest member of the Nokia Android smartphone family on its American webstore. The Nokia 2, announced a little more than 2 weeks ago, should soon be available in the United States, according to Amazon, for an attractive price point of just $99 (€84). The phone can be purchased right away, but the delivery date is unknown. Amazon has all 3 colors listed on the store page: copper, black and white, but on the copper variant, just the aluminum frame is in copper color, while the back and the front of the phone are black.

Specifications:

  • 5-inch LTPS HD display, Gorilla Glass 3
  • Snapdragon 212
  • 1GB RAM LPPDDR 3, 8GB internal storage
  • 4100mAh battery
  • 8MP rear + 5MP front camera
  • Colors: Copper, Black and White
  • OS: Android 7.1.1 Nougat (Oreo coming soon)
  • €99, available mid November

I’m not sure how successful the 2 will be on the US market, considering that it is more a “high end” phones market, than low end, but Lumia 520 sales were phenomenal in the US, so HMD probably knows what they are doing, I hope. Would be nice to see a Verizon version as well.
