According to mynokia.ir, Nokia and Mobile Communications Company of Iran (MCI) signed a memorandum of understanding under which the company will build a framework for future implementation of 5G technology. Since January 2016, the international community (UN) has lifted sanctions that were imposed on Iran after the Revolution in 1979. Many companies rushed to Iran trying to get a head start in their respective field on the Iranian market, and so did Nokia.
