Nokia 5 – a sleek and compact smartphone that nestles in your hand. The Nokia 5 has been precision engineered out of a single block of 6000 series aluminium to create a perfect pillowed body that flows seamlessly into the sculpted Corning® Gorilla® Glass laminated 5.2” IPS HD display. Powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 430 mobile platform and the Qualcomm® Adreno™ 505 graphics processor, the Nokia 5 brings robust structural integrity, attention to detail and the quality of a high-end flagship to everyone. Available in four colours – Matte Black, Silver, Tempered Blue and Copper – the Nokia 5 will retail at an average global retail price of €189.
Nokia 5 is “designed with the attention to detail.” The phone really looks impressive for a low end device. It is made from the same material as the Nokia 6 (and the lower end Nokia 3), Series 6000 Aluminum. The phone is 8.05mm thick (8.55mm with the camera bump) and packs a good-sized 3000mAh battery.
The 5.2-inch HD display is protected by the curved 2.5D Gorilla Glass. The screen’s brightness can go up to 500 nits, which is most impressive for the price. On the back we have a 13MP PDAF (phase detection autofocus) camera, and on the front a 8MP camera.
The phone uses the Snapdragon 430 as the processor, together with 2GB of RAM. The internal memory is 16GB, expandable with a MicroSD card. Other features include a fingerprint scanner, NFC and Nokia’s smart amplifier (TFA9891).
The OS is Android 7.1.1 Nougat, that will be updated monthly with the newest Android versions and security patches.
The phone will be available globally on day one sometime in Q2.
