HMD Global announced that the strategic agreement about covering of the branding rights and intellectual property for production and marketing of the new Nokia phones is finally approved and has become valid. Just to refresh the memories, the deal was originally announced on May 18, 2016.
HMD Global, Finnish company that consists of ex-Nokia employees, in now the new Home of Nokia feature and smart phones and tablets, which will be produced by FIH (a subsidiary of Hon Hai Precision Industries trading as Foxconn Technology Group).
Nokia is not investor or shareholder of HMD, but will oversight the development and the production of the future phones and tablets.
In addition, it is great to see mobile phones pages back to Nokia website, which will be led by HMD, but is also a proof that there is still a lot of Nokia in them. First phones that are housed there are Nokia 216, Nokia 222 and 130, feature phone presented in 2016.
Great time are ahead of us, but we just need to patient for about two months when MWC will start and hopefully give us new Nokia devices.
