Vivo V80 India Launch: October Release Date and Camera Features Leaked

Vivo is gearing up to significantly upgrade its mid-range smartphone portfolio with the upcoming release of the Vivo V80. Following the recent rollout of varying Vivo V80 Lite models across international markets, new reports indicate that the standard Vivo V80 is slated for an early October launch in India.
According to a recent leak from SmartPrix, the new device will aggressively target mobile photographers and content creators by adopting premium camera technologies traditionally reserved for Vivo’s top-tier X series.
Vivo V80 Bridging the Gap with ZEISS Optics
The centerpiece of the Vivo V80’s photographic arsenal is expected to be a 50-megapixel ZEISS Night Telephoto lens. Capable of 3X optical zoom, this sensor promises sharp, high-resolution imagery even in low-light conditions.
More notably, the device is tipped to introduce a 10X zoom capability specifically tuned for Portrait mode. This marks a significant milestone for the V series, allowing users to capture tightly framed, professional-grade portraits from a considerable distance while maintaining pristine image quality and natural background compression.
4K Cinematic Video and In-App Grading
Beyond still photography, the Vivo V80 is poised to deliver a major leap in videography. The smartphone will reportedly feature a new 4K Cinematic Video mode that enables real-time background blur (bokeh) while recording.
To further streamline the content creation process, Vivo is integrating professional-style color grading directly into the native camera application. Users will have access to at least three distinct cinematic presets—Modern Movie, Vibrant, and Pastel. These built-in styles are designed to give footage a stylized, film-like aesthetic immediately upon capture, completely bypassing the need for third-party editing software.
The Expanding Vivo V80 Lineup
The anticipated October debut of the Vivo V80 in India follows a somewhat fragmented release strategy for the series’ entry-level tier. Recently, Vivo launched the V80 Lite in Pakistan and Bangladesh as a rebranded Vivo S2, while the Malaysian market received a vastly different V80 Lite iteration equipped with a colossal 10,000mAh battery.
Industry insiders also report that a Vivo V80 FE (Fan Edition) is currently in development, though details surrounding its specifications and official launch window remain under wraps.
