Vivo is gearing up to expand its Indian smartphone portfolio with the imminent launch of the Vivo T5 5G, officially scheduled for September 2, 2026. Positioned as a premium mid-range contender, the upcoming handset promises to deliver a rare combination of an ultra-slim chassis, a massive battery, and aggressive on-device AI capabilities.
Striking a Balance: 7,050mAh Battery in a 7.9mm Frame
The defining feature of the Vivo T5 5G is its engineering marvel of a battery. The device packs a staggering 7,050mAh cell, aiming to provide multi-day endurance for heavy users. Despite this massive power capacity, Vivo has managed to compress the hardware into a sleek 7.9mm profile, marketing it as one of the thinnest smartphones in its class to feature a battery exceeding 7,000mAh.
The front of the device is dominated by a premium 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED display. Featuring a fluid 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, the screen is designed for vibrant media consumption and high-visibility outdoor use. A subtle hole-punch cutout houses the front-facing camera.

Furthermore, the brand is emphasizing the phone’s artificial intelligence prowess. The T5 5G boasts on-device AI performance capable of processing 10 tokens per second on a 3-billion-parameter model, ensuring faster and more secure AI-driven features without relying entirely on cloud processing.
Vivo T5 5G: Software, Pricing, and Market Context
Out of the box, the smartphone will run on OriginOS 6, built upon the newly released Android 16. While specific RAM and storage configurations remain under wraps, industry watchers note that the design and core hardware heavily mirror the recently launched iQOO Z11. This suggests the T5 5G may be a carefully tailored, rebranded variant designed specifically for Vivo’s core Indian market.
The Vivo T5 5G rounds out the existing T5 series, which already includes the T5 Pro 5G, T5 Lite 5G, and T5x 5G.
The smartphone will be available exclusively through Flipkart. While official pricing will be revealed on launch day, industry expectations place the handset squarely in the competitive ₹40,000 to ₹50,000 price bracket.
