Camera Details of the Honor ROBOT PHONE Ahead of the August 12 Launch

On July 28, Honor held an imaging technology event where the camera specifications of the upcoming ROBOT PHONE smartphone were presented. The official market launch of the device is scheduled for August 12.

The device is equipped with a primary sensor with a resolution of 200 megapixels, a 1/1.28-inch format, and an f/1.6 aperture. This main lens is connected to a three-axis gimbal system for image stabilization. The rear module of the device houses two additional cameras: a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.

Alongside the hardware components of the sensor, the manufacturer confirmed the use of a new image processing chip called Yuguang H1. The stabilization system is controlled by a gimbal motor weighing 2.6 grams. According to the published data, the dimensions of this motor are 65 percent smaller compared to standard motors on the market, while the torque density is 35 percent higher, allowing for lens movement regulation.

The software part of the system includes real-time image processing to control white balance, exposure, tones, glare reduction, and detail regulation. The AiMAGE 2.0 technology is responsible for maintaining frame stability in both static and moving conditions.

In collaboration with ARRI, the system supports Log-C video encoding and LUT files for color grading. A LUT (Look-Up Table) is a mathematical formula that maps input color values to output values, functioning as a filter for altering color display in videos. The combination of these two technologies is applied to process and record video content on the device.
