HMD C2 and C2 Plus Leaks: Full Specs, Images, and European Pricing

The mid-range smartphone market is about to welcome two very serious competitors. Following the recent launch of the affordable Vibe 2 5G, HMD Global is actively preparing to expand its popular C series. Thanks to a recent massive leak, we now have a detailed look at the design, key specifications, and expected European pricing for the upcoming models—the HMD C2 and the HMD C2 Plus. These 5G devices clearly demonstrate HMD’s ambition to offer premium features at highly accessible price points.
Dominant Displays and the Latest Snapdragon Power
Both models come equipped with spacious 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED displays, but the real difference lies in the details. While the standard HMD C2 offers a 90Hz refresh rate and an impressive 1000 nits of peak brightness, the more advanced C2 Plus delivers a true flagship experience with a 120Hz refresh rate and a blazing 1500 nits. This guarantees exceptional visibility and fluidity, even under direct sunlight.
Under the hood, both smartphones are powered by the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 (4nm) processor. This next-generation chipset ensures smooth daily performance, stable 5G connectivity, and high energy efficiency.
Focus on Longevity and Serious Photography
One of the strongest selling points of these new HMD devices is undoubtedly their battery life. Both phones pack massive 6000 mAh batteries, complete with 33W fast charging support. Given the power efficiency of the new processors and the optimizations expected from Android 16 (which the devices are rumored to ship with out of the box), users can look forward to multi-day, worry-free usage.
When it comes to photography, HMD has prepared two distinct configurations. The standard C2 relies on a 50 MP main sensor with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), accompanied by 2 MP and 0.3 MP auxiliary lenses. On the other hand, the C2 Plus takes a significant leap forward with a 64 MP main camera featuring Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP depth sensor. Selfie enthusiasts will also be thrilled to hear that both devices feature powerful 50 MP front-facing cameras.
Rich Features at an Unbeatable Price
In an era where many manufacturers are systematically stripping away basic ports, HMD is swimming against the current. Both the C2 and C2 Plus feature a traditional 3.5 mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and dual stereo speakers enhanced by OZO audio technology.
The visual identity maintains a modern and clean aesthetic with a distinctive square camera module on the back. The standard model will be available in soothing pastel shades (Light Mint, Midnight Blue, and Lavender), while the C2 Plus offers a slightly bolder palette (Coral, Royal Blue, and Jade Green). Durability is also accounted for: the HMD C2 comes with an IP54 rating, whereas the Plus version steps up with an IP65 rating for better dust and water resistance.
The biggest draw, however, might just be the leaked pricing. According to unofficial sources, the standard HMD C2 will start at just €149 in the European market, while the more powerful HMD C2 Plus is expected to cost a highly competitive €200. If these rumors prove accurate, HMD is about to deliver the ultimate budget hits of the year.
