Samsung Galaxy M47 5G goes official in India with Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and 6000mAh battery

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy M47 5G in India, adding another high-end mid-range option to its M series portfolio. The phone is designed to appeal to users who want a large battery, capable day-to-day performance, and long software support without stepping into flagship pricing.
At the center of the Galaxy M47 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. That combination should give the device a solid foundation for everyday multitasking, app performance, and general responsiveness, while also helping Samsung keep the phone competitive against increasingly aggressive rivals in the same category.

Battery life is clearly one of the headline features. Samsung has equipped the Galaxy M47 5G with a 6,000mAh battery and 45W wired fast charging, which should make the phone especially attractive to users who prioritize endurance over ultra-thin design. Reports ahead of launch also pointed to bypass charging support, a feature that can help reduce battery strain during gaming sessions.
The display is another strong point. The handset features a large 120Hz Super AMOLED panel, reinforcing Samsung’s usual strength in screens even in the mid-range segment. Camera hardware includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization, while the phone is also reported to launch with Android 16 and One UI 8.5 out of the box.

Samsung is also emphasizing long-term software reliability. The company is promising six years of security updates for the Galaxy M47, a commitment that remains relatively rare in this price bracket and could become a key selling point for buyers who keep their phones for several years.
In India, the Galaxy M47 5G starts at Rs 22,999 with offers included, and sales are scheduled to begin on July 4 through Amazon. The phone will be available in Blaze Blue and Rogue Red, giving Samsung a device that blends practical hardware choices with a slightly more eye-catching presentation than many budget-focused competitors.
