iQOO 15 Ultra Launch Date Confirmed: Active Cooling and 7,400mAh Battery Revealed

iQOO 15 Ultra

The wait for iQOO’s first Ultra-branded smartphone is nearly over. Following days of teasing a new flagship device, the Vivo sub-brand has officially confirmed that the iQOO 15 Ultra will be unveiled in China on February 4 at 7 PM local time.

While the company has begun showcasing the device’s unique design and cooling capabilities, a substantial leak from a reputable industry insider has simultaneously laid bare the phone’s internal specifications, painting a picture of a device built entirely for sustained power and mobile gaming dominance.

Positioning: The “Performance Ultra”

iQOO is marketing the iQOO 15 Ultra as the industry’s first “performance Ultra.” While other manufacturers often reserve the “Ultra” moniker for photography-focused flagships, iQOO is pivoting toward power users and gamers.

Official promotional materials reveal a distinct “Cyberpunk” aesthetic. The phone will be available in two colorways: 2077 Flowing Orange and 2049 Ice Blue. The futuristic design is functional as well as visual; the frame incorporates physical shoulder buttons on both sides to provide tactile control for gaming, a feature rarely seen outside of niche gaming hardware.

To maintain peak performance, iQOO confirmed the device features an integrated active cooling fan. This is paired with a sophisticated thermal management system utilizing a large vapor chamber and liquid metal heat transfer materials, designed to prevent throttling during marathon gaming sessions.

iQOO 15 Ultra Specifications: A 7,400mAh Behemoth

Coinciding with the official announcement, widely-followed tipster Digital Chat Station posted a comprehensive spec sheet on Weibo. If accurate, the iQOO 15 Ultra will be a hardware monster.

The device is expected to feature a flat 6.85-inch Samsung 2K LTPO display with adaptive refresh rates. Under the hood, it will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, working in tandem with iQOO’s proprietary Q3 supercomputing chip to boost frame rates and visual fidelity. Memory configurations are rumored to max out at a staggering 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Perhaps the most impressive specification leaked is the battery capacity. The phone is tipped to house a massive 7,400mAh battery, supported by 100W wired charging, wireless charging capabilities, and bypass charging—a critical feature for gamers that powers the phone directly without charging the battery to reduce heat.

Cameras and Software

Despite the gaming focus, the imaging system appears capable. The leak suggests a triple 50-megapixel rear camera setup, including a main sensor and a 3x periscope telephoto lens, alongside a 32-megapixel front-facing shooter.

The iQOO 15 Ultra is expected to ship with OriginOS 6, based on Android 16. It also reportedly features an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a dual-axis linear motor for haptics, and upgraded stereo speakers.

As of now, iQOO has not clarified if or when the iQOO 15 Ultra will launch in global markets outside of China.
