Nokia 4.2 available in Finland; Nokia 8.1, 7.1 and 5.1 Plus on discounts

Nokia Mobile’s latest lower midrange device the Nokia 4.2 is officially available in Finland. With the availability of Nokia 4.2, Finnish retailer Gigantti.fi lowered the price of current Nokia devices – the Nokia 8.1, Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 5.1 Plus.

The price of Nokia 8.1 was lowered from 399 euros to 369 euros, Nokia 7.1 went from 249 euros to attractive 199 euros, while the price of Nokia 5.1 Plus was lowered from 199 euros to 179 euros. From the mentioned three, Nokia 7.1 at €199 looks like a solid deal considering it’s the 4GB/64GB variant.

The new Nokia 4.2 went on sale in Finland via Nokia’s official store in the 3/32GB memory variant for 199 euros, reports Suomimobiili.fi. I find it strange, to put it mildly, that the price of Nokia 4.2 is the same as the price of Nokia 7.1 (4GB/64GB), and higher than the 5.1 Plus. Looking at such pricing strategy, no wonder Nokia Mobile’s biggest sales dip happened in Europe. Removing the 7.1 and 5.1 Plus before launching the 4.2 or launching the 4.2 at €149 would make more sense, but instead we have 3 Nokia phones competing almost on the same price tag.
