Samsung’s Luxury Galaxy W27 Foldable Arrives October 29 in China

Samsung is accelerating its foldable release schedule, preparing to unveil its fourth flexible smartphone of the year. Following the recent debuts of the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Z Fold 8, and Z Fold 8 Ultra, the South Korean tech giant has confirmed via Weibo that a new book-style foldable will launch in China on October 29.
Official promotional images tease a premium device featuring a striking gold-colored frame. Furthermore, the linked registration website directly references “W2026” in its URL and polls visitors on their interest in the luxury Samsung W series, heavily indicating the next iteration of the company’s China-exclusive foldable line.

Prominent industry leaker Ice Universe has identified the upcoming device as the Samsung W27, effectively a high-end variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra tailored for the Chinese market. Leaked images corroborate the official teasers, showcasing a gold chassis, a matching golden camera island, and custom rear branding.
According to the leak, the W27 will mirror the Z Fold 8 Ultra’s formidable hardware architecture. The device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, supported by a 5,000mAh battery capable of 45W fast charging. The camera array will likely retain the Ultra’s premium setup, featuring a 200-megapixel primary sensor flanked by 50MP and 10MP lenses.
Historically, Samsung’s W series offers distinct advantages over its global Galaxy counterparts to justify its luxury positioning. Last year’s W26 provided more RAM than the standard Z Fold 7, bundled a physical charger in the retail box, and included exclusive Galaxy AI features localized for the Chinese market. Consumers can expect similar premium perks for the W27, though acquiring the device outside of China will require navigating the third-party import market.
