Galaxy OS or One UI 10? Samsung’s rumored software overhaul coming
![]()
Samsung may be preparing a more substantial software overhaul for the Galaxy S28 series. According to an early leak, the company is considering a release internally referred to as One UI 10 or Galaxy OS, with AI woven more deeply into the interface. Samsung has not announced the project, confirmed either name or said which features—if any—would cost extra.
More than another AI menu?
The claim, attributed to leaker phonefuturist, suggests Samsung is working with Google on AI capabilities built into the operating system itself. That would be a different emphasis from simply adding more standalone tools for writing, translation, photo editing or contextual assistance. The report also points to optional integrations from third-party companies that could carry a separate charge.
That distinction matters, but the details are missing. It is not clear what system-level AI would do, which partners might be involved, or whether existing Galaxy AI tools would remain free. The mention of paid integrations should not be read as an announcement that One UI—or Galaxy AI as a whole—is moving to a subscription.
Reported software details
Because this concerns an unannounced software update, the table separates the leak’s claims from what remains unknown rather than presenting them as confirmed specifications. The opportunity—and the risk
One UI has grown into a feature-rich interface, but adding capability can also make menus and settings feel crowded. A genuine redesign would need to make the phone easier to use, not merely give new AI features more prominent places to appear. So far, the leak offers no concrete evidence of changes to navigation, appearance or everyday controls.
The tenth-anniversary angle makes for a plausible narrative around a major update, but it is not confirmation of Samsung’s plans. Between now and a possible Galaxy S28 launch, the name, feature set and commercial terms could all change. The useful question to watch is not how much AI Samsung can add; it is whether that AI improves routine tasks without making the interface more complicated or its costs harder to understand.
