ColorOS 17 Update Roadmap: When Will Your OnePlus Device Get the Update?
The end of an era has officially arrived for OnePlus enthusiasts. The Chinese technology giant has announced the definitive retirement of its signature OxygenOS user interface. Moving forward, all upcoming smartphones will ship with ColorOS out of the box, while a substantial number of existing devices will undergo a full software transition from their current operating systems to the new platform.
Following the recent global unveiling of ColorOS 17, OnePlus has published a comprehensive migration roadmap for a wide array of its devices, marking a major turning point in the company’s software strategy.
Rollout Phasing and Dynamics
The official schedule reveals that ColorOS 17 will reach users in several distinct phases, with the process kicking off in late October 2026 and extending throughout the first quarter of 2027. Unsurprisingly, the company’s latest premium flagship devices are first in line for the upgrade.
OnePlus emphasizes that the stable release of ColorOS 17 will be distributed in batches. Consequently, software availability for any specific device may vary based on a number of factors, including the exact hardware model, geographic region, and the user’s telecommunications carrier.
Flexibility and Important Caveats
The company also notes that this provided timeline is a general framework and remains subject to change as software development progresses. Users are highly encouraged to monitor official OnePlus communication channels to stay informed on the latest updates. It is important to note that models tied exclusively to specific carriers may adhere to entirely separate update schedules, and the listed chronological order does not necessarily guarantee the exact, sequential download availability for every individual device.
