Xiaomi 18 Pro Transparent Special Edition Launched: Price, Specs, and Design
Xiaomi has officially pulled the curtain back on a striking ultra-premium tier for its latest flagship lineup: the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max Transparent Special Editions. Priced at 9,999 yuan (approximately $1,492) and 10,999 yuan ($1,642) respectively, these limited-run devices are strictly targeted at power users, arriving in a single, maxed-out configuration of 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage.
Despite the “Transparent” moniker, Xiaomi has taken a highly stylized hybrid approach to the design. The devices themselves boast a rich red colorway featuring a tactile, three-dimensional embossed back panel, which the company says is achieved through an advanced micron-level film process. The see-through aesthetic is instead realized through a mix of clever software and custom accessories. Both the primary display and the lineup’s distinctive secondary rear screen feature exclusive wallpapers that digitally expose the phone’s intricate internal layout. Furthermore, the retail unboxing experience leans fully into the theme with color-matched, transparent red accessories, including a see-through charging brick and data cable.
Underneath the exclusive crimson exterior, the Special Edition retains the powerhouse specifications of the standard Xiaomi 18 Pro series. The visual experience is anchored by a 1-120Hz OLED primary display equipped with hardware-level privacy protection, seamlessly paired with the secondary notification and viewfinder screen on the back.
Photography remains a major focal point, with a Leica-branded triple-camera array dominating the rear casing. The setup is headlined by a massive 200-megapixel primary sensor and a matching 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens capable of 3.2x optical zoom, all rounded out by a high-resolution 50-megapixel ultrawide shooter.
Performance is driven by Qualcomm’s cutting-edge 2nm silicon. The 18 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the Pro Max variant steps up to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Both utilize high-speed LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, kept running at peak efficiency by a circular cold-pump cooling system designed to mitigate thermal throttling during intense workloads.
To support this heavy-hitting hardware, Xiaomi has integrated next-generation silicon-carbon batteries. The 18 Pro houses a massive 7,000mAh cell, while the Pro Max jumps to a staggering 8,500mAh unit. Both models support blistering charging speeds: 100W wired, 50W wireless, and 27W reverse charging. Rounding out the flagship experience is Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4 featuring Super XiaoAI 2.0, alongside premium mainstays like Ultra Wideband (UWB) support, NFC, Dolby Atmos audio, and full IP-rated water resistance.
