Xiaomi has officially initiated the beta testing phase for its next-generation user interface, HyperOS 4. The initial wave of test builds is currently making its way to eligible devices across mainland China, delivering a host of system-level optimizations, UI animation refinements, and crucial bug fixes for the Super XiaoAI assistant.

For now, this highly anticipated testing phase is strictly exclusive to China ROMs. Users operating on the Global and EEA software branches will need to exercise patience, as international beta testing schedules are slated to roll out in the coming months.

• System & Performance: The update eradicates stuttering and latency issues during fingerprint unlocking. It also patches a frustrating bug that caused the virtual keyboard to linger on the Recents screen and resolves occasional audio dropouts during video playback. Additionally, gamers will now see an accurate representation of RAM consumption during gameplay.

• Super XiaoAI: The update resolves specific input scenarios where the virtual keyboard failed to trigger when interacting with Xiaomi’s smart assistant.

• Home Screen Dynamics: The launcher receives optimized UI rendering for Big Icons and widgets. It also addresses a bug where gesture returns failed and fixes missing icon visuals when users applied certain third-party themes.

• Core Applications: The Gallery app now benefits from smoother scrolling fluency. The Weather app introduces updated rain animation rendering and better stability for the bottom bar’s advanced blur effects. Lastly, the Calendar and System Search apps received patches to fix screen flickering during view toggles and to correct UI overlap issues in Freeform floating windows.
