Vivo product manager Han Boxiao recently took to social media to tease a major videography upgrade for the Pro models. The X500 Pro series will natively support 4K video recording at a staggering 240 frames per second (fps) via its Zeiss Super Dynamic main camera. By capturing eight times more frames than standard 30fps footage, users will be able to drastically slow down fast-paced action without sacrificing the crisp clarity of 4K resolution.
The company isn’t stopping at hardware capabilities. Vivo is actively developing sophisticated in-house algorithms for 4K frame interpolation and video speed mapping. This computational trickery will enable 16x and 32x slow-motion modes, effectively rendering 4K video at 480fps and even 960fps. Vivo highlights this as the ultimate tool for capturing split-second, highly dynamic scenes—like bursting water balloons or fast-moving sports—in cinematic detail.
Vivo X500 Pro Max: A Camera Island of Epic Proportions
While the software teasers are impressive, the physical hardware is stealing the spotlight. An alleged hands-on photo surfaced recently, showcasing what is believed to be the Vivo X500 Pro Max sitting beside the already-hefty X300 Ultra.
The image reveals a circular camera island on the Pro Max that stretches nearly edge-to-edge across the back of the device, making the X300 Ultra look modest by comparison. Furthermore, a leaked hands-on video suggests the presence of a mechanical rotating ring encircling the camera module. Markings on the ring hint that it could be used for tactile, manual ISO adjustments—a feature that would strongly appeal to photography purists.
