Lava Agni 4N UK Launch: Dimensity 8350, 50MP Cameras and 66W Charging at £499

Indian handset manufacturer Lava has officially entered the UK smartphone market with the launch of the Agni 4N. The company describes the device as a premium smartphone offered at an accessible price, combining flagship-grade performance, refined design and user-focused features tailored for British consumers.

The Agni 4N goes on sale in the UK via Amazon from September 4, priced at £499 in a single 8GB RAM / 256GB storage configuration.

Metal build and high-spec AMOLED display

The Lava Agni 4N features a metal frame and a 6.67-inch AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The panel offers:

  • 2,712 × 1,220 resolution

  • 120Hz refresh rate

  • Up to 2,400 nits peak brightness

  • Support for 1.07 billion colors

These specifications place the Agni 4N’s screen in line with many current mid-range and upper mid-range devices, with particular emphasis on brightness and color depth.

Lava Agni 4N: Dimensity 8350, stock Android 16 and update promise

Under the hood, the Agni 4N is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 SoC, paired with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage.

The phone ships with stock Android 16 out of the box, rather than the newer Android 17. Lava emphasizes that the device comes without ads or bloatware and will receive:

  • Two Android OS upgrades

  • Three years of security updates

This update commitment is designed to reassure buyers about the phone’s long-term usability in a competitive market.

Vayu AI as an integrated assistant

Lava has introduced Vayu AI (Vayu meaning “air”) as an “intelligent AI companion” integrated directly into the home screen for voice-first interactions. The feature set includes:

  • Expert AI Agents

  • AI Text Assistant

  • AI Call Summary

  • AI Photo Editor

  • AI Image Generator

  • Document & Image Analyzer

These tools are intended to enhance productivity and content creation without requiring third-party apps.

Lava Agni 4N

Lava Agni 4N: Cameras and video capabilities

For imaging, the Agni 4N uses:

  • Front: 50MP selfie camera

  • Rear:

    • 50MP primary camera with OIS

    • 8MP ultrawide camera with 112° field of view

Both 50MP cameras support 4K video recording at 60fps, which is relatively uncommon in this segment and may appeal to users who prioritize video quality.

Battery, charging and cooling

The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 66W fast charging. Lava claims the phone can charge from 0% to 50% in 19 minutes. The Amazon listing indicates that the retail box does not include a power adapter, in line with current industry trends.

Additional hardware highlights include:

  • In-display fingerprint scanner

  • IR blaster

  • NFC

  • Dual stereo speakers

  • 4,300 mm² 3D VC liquid cooling system

  • IP64 rating for splash and dust resistance

An Action Key is also included, allowing users to trigger different functions via single click, double click or long press, with support for more than 100 customizable combinations.

Relationship to the India-only Agni 4

The Agni 4N is essentially a UK variant of the Agni 4, which launched in India last November. The main visible difference is that the 4N’s camera module does not carry the “Agni” branding.

In India, the Agni 4 was introduced at INR 24,999 (around £195) and is currently priced at INR 32,999 (around £255). The UK version, at £499 (approximately INR 64,085), is positioned significantly higher, reflecting import costs, taxes, warranty support and market positioning.

The phone is available in Phantom Black and Lunar Mist colors, both featuring matte AG glass backs.

UK customer support and warranty

To support UK customers, Lava has partnered with SBE Ltd, based in Ashford, Kent. Support options include:

Lava is offering a mail-in service with a two-year replacement warranty for hardware defects. Specific warranty terms are:

  • Agni 4N device: 2 years

  • Battery: 1 year

With the Agni 4N, Lava is making a clear push into the UK mid-range segment, betting on a combination of solid hardware, AI features and a clean software experience to differentiate itself from established brands.
