Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro Leak Reveals Compact Ultra Design Without an S Pen
Samsung may be preparing a new approach for its 2027 flagship range with the Galaxy S27 Pro, a model that appears to bring many of the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s high-end features into a smaller, easier-to-handle design. Rather than following the familiar Pro and Pro Max naming convention used by Apple and Google, Samsung could position the Galaxy S27 Pro as a compact alternative to its biggest flagship.
Early CAD-based renders suggest the Galaxy S27 Pro will closely resemble the Galaxy S27 Ultra, but with one key omission: support for the S Pen. The renders do not show a built-in stylus slot, indicating that Samsung may reserve the S Pen exclusively for the Ultra model.
Familiar Ultra-Inspired Design, Without the S Pen
The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to share much of the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s design language. CAD renders point to a flat-sided body, rounded corners and a horizontal camera bar extending across the rear panel.
The device appears to feature a triple-camera system rather than the Ultra model’s more advanced configuration. While the final camera hardware has not been confirmed, the Galaxy S27 Pro may use many of the same imaging components as the Ultra, with one important difference in its telephoto setup.
The purple finish shown in the renders should not be considered final. CAD images commonly use striking colors to highlight edges, materials and overall form, rather than revealing confirmed retail finishes.
The redesigned camera bar may prove more functional than Samsung’s recent floating-camera layouts. A broader rear camera housing could reduce the familiar wobble that occurs when a phone rests on a flat surface. It may also create room for magnetic charging components, larger camera sensors and a bigger vapor chamber for thermal management.
More Compact Dimensions and a 6.6-Inch Display
The Galaxy S27 Pro is rumored to measure approximately 154.06 x 73.77 x 7.95 mm. That would make it nearly as thin as the Galaxy S27 Ultra, while remaining noticeably shorter and narrower.
Its display is expected to measure around 6.6 inches. That makes it roughly 0.3 inches smaller than the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s rumored panel and could make the Pro model considerably more comfortable for one-handed use.
For buyers who want flagship-level cameras and performance but find Ultra-sized phones too large, the Galaxy S27 Pro could become one of Samsung’s most important additions to the lineup.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme and Possible Exynos Variant
The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme, a next-generation flagship processor reportedly designed around a 5GHz mobile CPU.
Samsung could also use its own Exynos 2700 chipset in selected regions. This would continue the company’s long-running practice of offering different processors depending on market, although final regional configurations remain uncertain.

Samsung is expected to equip the Galaxy S27 Pro with a 200-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor, bringing two of the Ultra model’s headline camera components to the smaller phone.
The key compromise may come with the zoom camera. The Galaxy S27 Pro is rumored to use a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, while the Galaxy S27 Ultra may retain a higher-spec 5x telephoto system.
That would give the Pro a strong all-round camera setup for everyday photography, portraits and moderate zoom shots, while ensuring that the Ultra maintains a clear advantage for more demanding long-range photography.
Bigger Battery With Silicon-Carbon Technology
The Galaxy S27 Pro could feature a 5,200mAh battery, which would be a substantial capacity for a phone with a 6.6-inch display. It would also exceed the battery capacity used in some earlier Ultra models.
The increase may be enabled by silicon-carbon battery technology, which can deliver higher energy density than conventional lithium-ion cells. Samsung has reportedly begun using this battery approach in its latest foldable devices and may expand it across more Galaxy smartphones in 2027.
A 5,200mAh battery, combined with a modern 2nm-class flagship processor and software efficiency improvements, could give the Galaxy S27 Pro an important endurance advantage over many premium Android rivals.
Possible Release Date and Price
Samsung’s recent Galaxy S launch schedule has become less predictable. The Galaxy S26 series was introduced in late February, while earlier Galaxy S launches typically took place in January, shortly after CES.
If Samsung keeps the newer timetable, the Galaxy S27 series could be announced in late February 2027, potentially in the week leading into Mobile World Congress.
Pricing is even harder to predict because the Galaxy S27 Pro would be a new model. However, it could occupy the price tier previously associated with the Galaxy S Ultra, potentially starting around $1,299.
The wider Galaxy S27 range may also see price increases. The Galaxy S27 Ultra could reportedly start at $1,399 or even $1,499, which would leave room for the S27 Pro to sit between the former Plus and Ultra price categories.
Until Samsung confirms its plans, these specifications, pricing estimates and launch timing should be viewed as early expectations rather than final details.
