Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Launch Expected on August 27: Price, Specs and Features

Samsung has scheduled a new Galaxy event for August 27, and all signs point to the Galaxy S26 FE making its official debut. While the company has not confirmed the product by name, recent certification records, renders and specification leaks strongly suggest that the next Fan Edition smartphone will take centre stage.
For buyers in India, the key question will be pricing. The Galaxy S26 FE is expected to bring a larger AMOLED display, an Exynos 2500 processor, a triple-camera setup and Samsung’s extended software support policy. However, a reported US price increase could make it substantially more expensive than the Galaxy S25 FE.
Galaxy Event set for August 27
Samsung’s next Galaxy Event will take place on August 27 at 12 PM UTC, which translates to 5:30 PM IST in India. The presentation will be streamed through Samsung’s official website and YouTube channel.
The company has not provided a product name in its announcement. Still, the timing and the growing number of Galaxy S26 FE leaks make the Fan Edition model the strongest candidate for launch.

Samsung’s FE smartphones traditionally aim to offer several flagship-grade features at a lower price than the regular Galaxy S and Galaxy S Ultra models. The problem is that the definition of “affordable flagship” becomes less convincing when the price begins approaching premium territory.
Expected India price
The Galaxy S26 FE is reportedly priced at $799 in the United States. Directly converted, that figure comes to roughly Rs 76,000, although Samsung’s Indian retail price will not necessarily match the currency conversion due to taxes, import costs, local production and market-specific pricing.
For context, the Galaxy S25 FE reportedly started at $649 in the US. If the $799 figure is accurate, Samsung could be preparing a $150 increase for the Galaxy S26 FE.
A higher Indian price would place the phone in direct competition with established premium devices, including Samsung’s own older Galaxy S-series models during discounts. That could make the S26 FE a more difficult sell unless Samsung compensates with aggressive launch offers, bank discounts, exchange bonuses or upgraded storage.
The Indian launch price has not been confirmed. Direct conversions are only an indication and do not account for local taxes, launch offers or Samsung’s India-specific pricing strategy.
Expected design and build
Leaked renders suggest that the Galaxy S26 FE may adopt a refreshed camera design inspired by the wider Galaxy S26 series. The phone is expected to feature a flat aluminium frame and a flat rear panel, continuing Samsung’s recent preference for cleaner, more restrained hardware styling.
The handset could measure 7.4mm thick and weigh approximately 193g. An IP68 rating is also expected, offering protection against dust and water.
Samsung may offer the phone in Blueberry, Graphite and Pistachio colour options. The more colourful finishes could help separate the Fan Edition model from the predictable black, grey and silver palette often used in the upper-midrange segment.
Display and performance
The Galaxy S26 FE is expected to feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel could reach peak brightness of up to 1,900 nits and may be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+.
Under the hood, Samsung is reportedly planning to use its Exynos 2500 chipset. The phone may be offered with up to 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.
The processor will be one of the most closely watched elements of the launch, especially in India. Samsung’s Exynos chips have historically faced more scrutiny than Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon alternatives, particularly regarding sustained gaming performance, thermals and power efficiency. Actual results will depend on Samsung’s tuning, cooling system and real-world battery performance.
Cameras and battery
The Galaxy S26 FE could use a triple-camera system led by a 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilisation. It may be joined by a 12MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP telephoto sensor with OIS and 3x optical zoom.
For selfies and video calls, Samsung is expected to include a 12MP front-facing camera.
The handset may pack a 4,900mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging, 15W wireless charging and wireless power sharing. These specifications would give the phone a relatively capable charging package, although Samsung would still need to include a compatible adapter separately in many markets.
What Indian buyers should watch
The Galaxy S26 FE could be an appealing option for buyers who want Samsung’s software ecosystem, a dedicated telephoto camera, wireless charging, IP68 durability and a long update commitment without paying Ultra-level prices.
However, the reported $799 price raises concerns. If Samsung positions the Galaxy S26 FE close to Rs 70,000 or above in India, consumers may find better value in discounted Galaxy S-series flagships, competing premium devices or the previous FE generation.
Samsung’s final India price, introductory offers and bank promotions will therefore matter as much as the phone’s specifications. A strong trade-in deal or effective price cut could preserve the FE model’s value proposition. Without one, the Galaxy S26 FE may face the uncomfortable task of proving why a “Fan Edition” phone costs almost as much as a flagship.
