Is Your Phone on the List? OPPO Find X9 and Reno14 Get February Feature Drop

OPPO continues to iterate on its software ecosystem with the release of a significant feature drop for ColorOS 16. While not a full version overhaul, the February 2026 update introduces a suite of targeted enhancements designed to streamline mobile photography workflows and boost productivity for business users.
The update, which is rolling out in phases throughout the month, places a heavy emphasis on AI-driven editing within the native Photos app and document handling capabilities.
ColorOS 16 : Precision and AI Creativity
The most visible changes arrive within the gallery, where OPPO is leveraging artificial intelligence to reduce the need for third-party editing software.
-
The “Popout” Effect: A new visual tool allows users to isolate subjects from their background instantly. By creating a layered effect directly within the Photos app, users can make people or objects stand out with a 3D-like prominence, a feature that previously required specialized design apps.
-
Enhanced AI Eraser: OPPO has refined its object removal algorithms. The updated AI Eraser promises to eliminate unwanted elements from images with significantly fewer digital artifacts, leaving the edited area looking cleaner and more natural than previous iterations.
-
Glare Reduction: The “Remove Reflections” tool has received a specific upgrade targeting portraits and documents. The software can now more effectively scrub glare from eyeglasses in portraits and eliminate light bounce on scanned paper documents.
Seasonal Exclusive: Year of the Horse For users in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, OPPO has introduced a limited-edition “New Year Watermark” celebrating the Year of the Horse. Available now through March 3, 2026, this customization option requires OS version 13.1 or higher and the latest Photos app (v15.75.0).
ColorOS 16Â Productivity: Breaking Language Barriers
Beyond imaging, the February update aims to make the OPPO ecosystem more viable for enterprise users.
The headline feature here is PowerPoint Translation. ColorOS 16 can now translate entire presentation decks into multiple languages while preserving the original layout and formatting—a notoriously difficult task for mobile translators. Users can view the original and translated text side-by-side and export the finalized file for immediate use.
Additionally, the Private Safe feature has been optimized for speed. The process of moving sensitive images and files into the secure, encrypted folder is now faster and more seamless, reducing friction for users prioritizing data privacy.
ColorOS 16 Rollout and Compatibility
The update is currently being pushed to devices in phases, a process that began on February 6 and will continue through February 28.
The list of supported devices for this wave includes OPPO’s latest flagship and premium mid-range tiers:
