Xiaomi 17T Leak: 6,500mAh Battery and New AI-Powered Dimensity Chipset

Xiaomi 17T

Xiaomi is accelerating its global release cycle, with new intelligence suggesting a significant hardware overhaul for its upcoming flagship-killer lineup. Following the appearance of the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro in the IMEI database last October, fresh details discovered within HyperOS source code have pulled back the curtain on the standard 17T’s key specifications. Identified under the internal codename “P12A,” the device appears to prioritize long-term endurance and sophisticated artificial intelligence.

Unprecedented Battery Capacity

The most striking revelation from the HyperOS code is the inclusion of a 6,500mAh battery. This marks a substantial increase over the 5,500mAh cell found in the previous year’s Xiaomi 15T, signaling a focus on multi-day usage for power users. However, despite the increased capacity, leaked data suggests that the charging speed will remain static at 67W.

Professional-Grade Camera Realignment

Xiaomi is reportedly transitioning to a new suite of sensors for the 17T’s triple-camera array. The primary photography duties will be handled by the OmniVision OV50E sensor. The auxiliary lenses include:

  • An OmniVision OV13B sensor for ultra-wide perspectives

  • A Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor dedicated to telephoto functionality.

  • A Samsung ISOCELL S5KKDS sensor for the front-facing selfie camera.

This setup replaces the 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera and 12MP ultra-wide configuration found on the older 15T.

Dimensity 9500s: The Agentic AI Era

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17T is expected to be powered by MediaTek’s recently debuted Dimensity 9500s chipset. The processor is notable for its integrated NPU, specifically engineered to handle generative and agentic AI features. Early performance benchmarks for this hardware are already available, as the same silicon currently powers the Redmi Turbo 5 Max.

A Shift in the Launch Calendar

While Xiaomi has historically reserved September for its T-series debuts, 2026 may see a strategic shift. The IMEI database listings from late 2025 point toward a potential February 2026 launch for the 17T Pro. If this timeline holds, it would represent a major change in Xiaomi’s global release strategy, bringing its “T” variants to market much earlier in the year.
