HyperOS 3 global: What’s new

Interface and multitasking

• HyperIsland introduces live activities and glanceable status in the taskbar, reducing the need to fully open apps to check ride progress, deliveries, or timers. Up to three islands are supported, and each can be pulled down into a floating window.
• Dynamic notifications surface context-aware prompts for calls, media, charging, and schedules.
• A centralized lock-screen editor streamlines customization, while AI Cinematic Lock Screen and AI Dynamic Wallpapers upgrade the visual experience.

AI features powered by HyperAI

• Smart screen recognition and DeepThink mode assist with generating insights and writing. Users can produce captions for images and choose among four writing styles.
• AI Speech Recognition reduces background noise, transcribes speech to text during recordings, and generates instant summaries.
• AI Search can summarize results and query on-device content, including practical questions such as birthdays or upcoming meetings.
• AI Translate supports simultaneous interpretation for calls and conferences, transcription with bilingual subtitles, and offline, face-to-face translation.
• Gallery gains AI search across 10 categories to locate specific images faster.

Ecosystem and cross-device improvements

• Touch-to-share is expanded for broader interoperability, including with Apple devices.
• Xiaomi apps can be run on iPad; multiple apps from a Xiaomi phone can be opened on a Mac in desktop-style windows.
• Xiaomi phones can be unlocked via Touch ID or Face ID on Apple hardware, and an iPhone can locate a Xiaomi phone through a Xiaomi hotspot.

Performance and reliability

• Under-the-hood optimizations target faster app launches, smoother animations, improved memory management, and enhanced long-term stability.
