HMD Vibe 5G launched in India
|HMD has just expanded its portfolio in India with the launch of the HMD Vibe 5G, a smartphone that promises speed, security, and peace of mind at a very attractive price point.
The phone comes with a 6.67” HD+ IPS punch-hole display featuring a 90 Hz refresh rate and a 2.5D curved design. Inside, it’s powered by the Unisoc T760 processor, paired with 4 GB of RAM (plus up to 4 GB of virtual RAM) and 128 GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD up to 512 GB.
On the back, the Vibe 5G carries a 50 MP AI dual camera setup (50 MP main + 2 MP depth) with LED flash and a rear notification light. On the front, there’s an 8 MP selfie camera.
Battery-wise, users get a 5000 mAh unit with 18 W charging, promising up to 30 hours of talk time on 5G. The device also packs dual speakers, Bluetooth 5.2, dual SIM support, and all the essential sensors including a side-mounted fingerprint reader and face unlock.
Out of the box, the phone runs on Android 15, with HMD promising 2 years of quarterly security updates. Another highlight is HMD’s 1-year Replacement Guarantee Promise, which should bring peace of mind to buyers in this segment.
The design sticks to HMD’s new aesthetic of straight edges with smooth corners and is available in Black and Purple color options.

- RAM/Storage: 4 GB + 128 GB (expandable)
- Cameras: 50 MP + 2 MP rear, 8 MP front

The HMD Vibe 5G is priced at ₹8,999 (discounted from ₹11,999) and is already available for purchase through HMD’s official store in India. The price is now set to about €100 which is OK for the low budget phone like this one.
The HMD Vibe 5G feels like another forgettable budget attempt — an underpowered Unisoc chip, HD+ screen, and bare-minimum specs that struggle to stand out in India’s competitive market. It’s more compromise than value, with the only truly interesting part being HMD’s weak attempt at a “glyph-style” rear notification light that will likely never reach its full potential. Still, its clean Android 15 and 1-year replacement guarantee give it a small niche of hope among users who just want reliability without frills.
