HMD Bold and Crest 2 Leak: New Budget Phones with Unisoc Chips Coming Soon

HMD Crest 2

HMD is preparing to expand its portfolio with several new budget Android smartphones. While rumors about the upcoming Pulse 2 series have been circulating for some time, a fresh leak from the well-known tipster HMD MEME’S suggests that two additional affordable devices are on the way. Codenamed “MAHUZE” and “ACCORD” internally, these handsets are expected to launch commercially as the HMD Bold and HMD Crest 2.

HMD Crest 2: Bringing 5G to Budget Buyers

The HMD Crest 2 (internally dubbed ACCORD) is set to be the more capable device of the pair. Under the hood, it will feature the Unisoc T8300 5G chipset, an octa-core processor built on TSMC’s efficient 6nm process. This chipset uses a 2+6 architecture, with two high-performance Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.2GHz for demanding tasks, and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz for everyday efficiency.

Early benchmark results for the HMD Crest 2 are promising for the budget segment, scoring 743 in Geekbench’s single-core test and 2,285 in the multi-core test. Buyers will reportedly have the option to choose between 4GB, 6GB, or even 8GB of RAM, making it one of the most flexible memory offerings in the affordable 5G space.

HMD Bold: Entry-Level Affordability

On the other side is the HMD Bold, which targets the entry-level market. This model will be powered by the Unisoc T7250, a chipset built on TSMC’s 12nm FinFET process. It features two Cortex-A75 cores at 1.8GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.6GHz, promising respectable performance for daily tasks. The Bold is expected to be available in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, making it a solid choice for budget-conscious users who want reliable performance without breaking the bank.

Launch Timeline and Expectations

While HMD has not officially confirmed the release date or pricing for the Crest 2 and Bold, the leak suggests that both devices could launch soon. With HMD focusing on security, repairability, and offering value for money, these upcoming phones are expected to appeal to users seeking dependable smartphones at accessible price points.
