HMD brings new featurephones in China Ahead of 2026 Split with Nokia

With its licensing deal with Nokia set to end next year, HMD is gradually replacing the Nokia-branded lineup in China with its own feature phones. HMD’s latest models were just certified in China. The market will soon see several rebranded or remodeled devices: the Nokia 2660 Flip now appears as the HMD 2660 Flip (TA-1713), the Nokia 3210 has become the HMD Barca 3210 (TA-1732), and two new models—TA-1727 and its camera-equipped version TA-1729—likely represent basic HMD 105/110 4G-type phones.

While the hardware remains largely unchanged, that’s not the key story here. What matters is that HMD is preparing to phase out the Nokia brand from one of its last strongholds—China—where their official Baidu channel is still branded as Nokia.

This marks a significant step of HMD going fully independent and taking full responsibility for gaining traction in the feature phone market.
