Honor Magic V5 Leak Reveals Massive Battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite, and 200MP Camera

Honor is preparing to unveil its Honor 400 series smartphones later this month in China, with additional launches such as the Magic V Flip 2 and Magic V5 foldable phones, expected in June. Now, a new Honor device, believed to be the Magic V5, has appeared on Chinese certification platforms, suggesting an official release is imminent.

A smartphone bearing the model number MBH-AN10 has received approval from both MIIT and 3C in China. It’s widely speculated that this model is the upcoming Honor Magic V5. According to the MIIT listing, the phone features a dual-cell battery setup (2070mAh + 3880mAh), totaling a rated capacity of approximately 5,950mAh. Its typical battery capacity is estimated to be around 6,100mAh, which would make it the largest battery ever used in a foldable smartphone. For context, the soon-to-launch Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to come with a 6,000mAh battery.

The MIIT documentation also confirms Beidou-3 short message communication support, while the 3C certification reveals support for 66W fast charging.

Rumored Honor Magic V5 Specifications

Leaks suggest the Magic V5 will include a 6.45-inch 120Hz LTPO OLED cover screen and a large 8-inch 2K 120Hz foldable inner display. Powering the device will be the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor.

The rear camera setup may consist of:

  • A 50MP main sensor with OIS

  • An ultrawide lens

  • A 200MP periscope telephoto camera

Other expected features include wireless charging, satellite connectivity, IPX8 water resistance, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Although the MBH-AN10 is strongly believed to be the Magic V5, Honor has yet to officially confirm its name. More details are likely to surface as the launch date approaches.
