Nokia PureBook laptop series to launch in India via Flipkart soon

In 2019, Flipkart, an Indian e-commerce company, took the initiative to bring the Nokia brand back into the television market and then into the streaming devices market in 2020. And now the company has again received Nokia’s nod and is prepping up to launch the Nokia brand into the laptop computers market. About a week ago, BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certified at most nine models of laptops under the Nokia brand.

Starting today, Flipkart officially began teasing the new Nokia laptops on its website. The teaser reveals that the laptops will come under the alias Nokia PureBook. Flipkart says that the Nokia PureBook laptops are built to empower and will be ultralight, powerful, and immersive. According to sources of the Times of India, the laptops will come with a Dolby Vision powered 14-inch screen and will weigh about 1.1 kg.

As per the BIS certification, the Nokia PureBook laptops will come with the model numbers NKi510UL82S, NKi510UL85S, NKi510UL165S, NKi510UL810S, NKi510UL1610S, NKi310UL41S, NKi310UL42S, NKi310UL82S, and NKi310UL85S. In our last post about Nokia laptops, per the model numbers, I guessed that the characters i5 or i3 probably describe the processor, and the number ’10’ probably means Microsoft Windows 10 as the OS. So if we go as per the model numbers, we might see five Nokia PureBook laptops with Intel Core i5 processors, while the other four Nokia PureBook laptops with Intel Core i3 processors.

However, one of our readers with the nickname backd00r thinks that the number ’10’ means the 10th generation of the processors, and the immediate digit (4, 8, or 16) after ‘UL’ is the RAM capacity of the laptops. If we go by this logic, then we might see:

  • two laptops with 4 GB RAM and an i3 processor.
  • two laptops with 8 GB RAM and an i3 processor.
  • three laptops with 8 GB RAM and an i5 processor.
  • two laptops with 16 GB RAM and an i5 processor.

Anyways, since Flipkart has already started spreading the news, we can expect the launch of the Nokia PureBook laptops soon within this year. Given Flipkart’s business model, the Nokia PureBook laptops will most probably be available exclusively in India.
