Marco Wirén appointed as the new CFO of Nokia. Kristian Pullola to step down

Nokia announced this morning change in their leadership team. The current Chief Financial Officer of Nokia, Kristian Pullola, will be stepping down from his role on August 31st, when Marco Wirén will take up the role of the new CFO. Mr. Pullola will stay in the company by the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.

Marco Wirén was born in 1966 and holds an M.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Uppsala. He is currently the president of Wärtsilä Energy specialized in smart technologies and lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets. He held senior and financial roles in other companies as SSAB, Eltel Networks and NCC, and has the confidence of the future CEO of Nokia, Pekka Lundmark.

The current CFO Kristian Pullola has been at Nokia for 21 years and served the last 3 as the Chief Financial Officer. He was with the company during the big transformations with the sales of their phone unit and acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent. “Serving at Nokia has been a true honor. I am fully committed to working with Marco on a smooth transition and am confident that I leave Nokia on a path to continued future improvement.
